The Alpha Chair
This chair's power rests in what rests in it.
When there were two or three to choose from, I chose this one. Near the speaker phone, it's a positional advantage for the AM meeting and allows a clear view of the whole office.
I was present the day he started. The day this third wheel sat his ass in the chair. Sat there with his legs sprawled out. His French cuffs buttoned with those fabricy little freakish cuff links. His collar wide open, his tail untucked, and his trendy gray pants unpressed.
I cast him an evil glance, short, quick, muted but directionally precise. It caught the trespasser by slight surprise.
But having seen the distaste in my eye for his seating selection, he fastened in and made himself more comfortable. His seat (for the moment.
